Can we bring our dog onboard the train? IMPORTANT UPDATE
Yes for the summer and fall season, dogs are allowed on the train in general seating, just as long as they are friendly and on a leash.
Unfortunately, we are unable to allow dogs in the lounge car (unless special accommodations are required). This winter season will be very lonely without them and we hope you visit us this winter and bring your furry or not so furry friend in the summer and fall seasons.
*Note: you will be asked to sign a liability waiver once you are onboard the train.
Below is a link to the waiver, if you would like to, please print and fill out and turn it into the depot.
Is there assigned seating on the train?
Management reserves the right to reserve and/or assign seats. Generally, seating is first come, first serve and patrons will be able to select their seats as they wish. On occasion, due to large groups or other functions, reserved seating may be used. These will be denoted by signs in the windows or blocked off seats in a car.
We ask that patrons respect others in selecting their seats. During a busy period it may be that the conductor or other employees ask people to move together in order to accommodate more patrons.
For the Holiday Express and Lounge Car Seating all seats will be assigned by the crew.
Are we allowed to bring our own food and drink on the train?
Yes, you are allowed to bring your own food and drink onboard, just no outside alcohol. We do have a concession stand as well as a gift shop onboard for your convenience.
Is the train heated?
Not in general seating. We have 150 enclosed seats and 150 open air seats. All seating is first come, first served. In May and June, September and October it is known to snow. Make sure to check the weather and we ask you to bring a jacket or sweater just in case.
The Lounge Car does have heat. If you wish to book the lounge car you may book a Fir Table (which includes seating for 1-2 people) or a Spruce Table (which includes seating for 1-4 people).
Are there bathrooms on board?
Yes: We have five restrooms on board one of which does include a handicapped restroom.
Is there a designated location and/or room for bus and RV parking?
Yes: Our north parking lot is great for oversized vehicles and buses. We also recommend using this parking lot if you bring a camper trailer.
Are you handicapped accessible for wheelchairs and walkers?
Yes: we can accomodate both walkers and wheelchairs. It is usually nice to board early so visit the ticket counter to notify them if this is desired. Our tour guide is more than willing to assist if you would like to board early. Also, there is a bathroom on board that is wheelchair accessible as well.
* Note: though we have had few problems do be aware that our ramp does not meet ADA specifications.
